Last month I did my first seminar called “The *E-Volved Trainee, Redefining Success“. I have to admit I was very nervous thinking about presenting for seven hours! I received a lot of support, and knew I had something of substance to share, so, I constructed an outline, and Dolph Geurds from CrossFit Mercer gave me the opportunity and the platform to speak and coach. Thank you Dolph! The basis of my seminar is to get people to stay open minded, to always search for new material, and to guide them in using their inherent logic. Weeding out unnecessary minutia in ones health and strength and conditioning repertoire and to refocus time on the big picture: Strength, Health and Happiness. Well, the good news is that the seminar was very productive and fulfilling – it really was a blast!  I sent out a call for some feedback and here is one of the attendee’s responses. I want to take this opportunity to thank the folks at CrossFit Mercer for being open minded and receptive.

This is why I do what I do:

Hi Eva,

I wanted to take this opportunity to give you feedback and to tell you how fantastic your seminar was.

Throughout my life, I have been lucky enough to train with elite coaches and athletes and work with very high level corporate executives. Some of these individuals were inspiring, while others were forgettable. If I could use one word to describe our interaction, I would say empowering.

We often hear the saying “If you are going to talk the talk, you better walk the walk” and this is exactly what you do. Your message was not only enlightening, but was true. Because you have had success at the highest levels and have persevered through so much your words have REAL meaning. I am a firm believer in your theory that Strength leads to Health, and Health leads to Happiness. By managing the stress in our life, reducing systemic inflammation, and taking time to rest and just change direction, we can do incredible things for ourselves.

As I walked out of the seminar, I knew that if I could take one thing away, it was to continue to E-volve as an athlete, coach, and individual. By listening to my body, and making better decisions while training I have seen noticeable improvements. Additionally, I have seen improvements outside of the gym in my home life and as a father. It really is about knowing who you are and what is truly important.

I would be crazy however, if I didn’t also mention the work we did with the weights. Flat out awesome! Your teaching methods were great and we were totally on the same page regarding essential exercises. Low Bar Back Squat, Deadlift and Power Cleans!!! What’s more fun than that? I have successfully added some of your cues when teaching and can honestly say I LOVE the Eva T ladder. I have used it as a warm up for cleans and snatches, and have also used it as its own workout.

I would highly recommend this seminar to anyone with an open mind who is looking to better themselves. Eva speaks from experience and will give you her honest opinion on things. She isn’t there to push a product or a program. She is there to share her story and to try and help you see things from a different perspective. This seminar is perfect for someone who is looking to enhance their coaching abilities, athletic performance, or overall fitness level.

Thank you Eva – I can’t wait to catch up with you again … next time … we’re surfing!!!

All the best,
Joe Latini
